L’exercice était difficile vu la mitoyenneté avec une petite maison banale et la présence d’une vieille fermette sur le terrain qui ne permettait pas d’en deviner le potentiel.
Implantation perpendiculaire à la rue, sur un terrain tout en longueur orienté sud-est.
La façade avant présente une face monolithique assez discrète et est complètement en contraste avec les façades est-sud larguement ouvertes étant donné le mitoyen côté ouest totalement aveugle.

The exercise was considering the joint ownership with a small banal house and the presence of an old farmhouse on the plot which did not allow you to guess its potential.
Implantation perpendicular to the street, on a long piece of land facing south-east. The front facade has a monolithic face that is quite discreet and is completely in contrast with the east-south facades wide open due to the totally blind west-facing party.

De oefening was moeilijk gezien de banaliteit van het aanliggend huis en de aanwezigheid van een oude boerderij op de grond die alleen het potentieel liet raden.
Ligging van het huis is loodrecht op de straat, op een langwerpig perceel zuid-oost georiënteerd. De voorgevel heeft een tamelijk discreet monolitische uitstraling en staat volledig in contrast met de zuid-oost gevel die grotendeels open is aangezien de gemene muur aan de westzijde blind is.
Ce long mur mitoyen étant en fait la colonne vertébrale de ce projet.
Il est d’abord vestiaire, puis escalier, puis séries d’armoires pour la cuisine, suivis d’un bureau et enfin un meuble TV.
Ce qui était une contrainte devenant ainsi un atout qui a permis d’organiser et structurer tout le rez de la maison, grand espace ouvert, aboutissant sur une terrasse couverte.
Ce rez est complèté par la chambre principale, l’étage étant complètement dévoué aux enfants et petits-enfants avec deux chambres et un énorme dortoir et sa très grande verrière donnant sur une grande terrasse.
This long party wall is in fact the backbone of this project. It is first a cloakroom, then a staircase, then a series of cupboards for the kitchen, followed by a study and finally a TV cabinet.
What was a constraint became an asset that allowed us to organize and structure the entire ground floor of the house, large open space, leading to a covered terrace.
This ground floor is completed by the master bedroom, the first floor being completely devoted to children and grandchildren with two bedrooms and a huge dormitory with its very large glass bay overlooking a large terrace.
De lange gemene muur is feitelijk de ruggengraat van dit project. Het is eerst een vestiaire, dan een trap, vervolgens een serie keukenkasten, gevolgd door een bureau en tenslotte een TV-kast.
Wat een beperking leek te zijn, werd zo een troef die het mogelijk maakte om de hele gelijkvloers te organiseren en structureren, een grote open ruimte, die leidt tot een overdekt terras.
De gelijkvloers wordt vervolledigd met de hoofdslaapkamer, de verdieping volledig gewijd aan de kinderen en kleinkinderen met twee slaapkamers en een grote slaapzaal met een groot raampartij die uitkijkt op een groot terras.
En terme d’architecture, nous avons voulu un esprit et des tonalités propres à la mer du Nord.
Un endroit taloché laisse transparaître la brique et prends des belles tonalités au soleil. Marié avec un vitrage clair, un bardage bois, une tuile ocre et des châssis bronzes cela se marie avec les paysages et couleurs ambiants. La décoration se veut très simple avec un béton lissé clair généralisé, des tons naturels, de belles matières...Un projet dont la famille... est le point central!
In terms of architecture, we wanted a spirit and tonalities specific to the North Sea.
The brick can be seen from a smooth surface and takes on beautiful tones in the sun. Married with clear glazing, wooden cladding, ochre tile and bronze frames it blends in with the surrounding landscapes and colors.
The decoration is very simple with a generalized light smooth concrete, natural tones, beautiful materials...
A project in which the family... is the central point!
Architectonisch, wouden wij een geest en tonaliteiten eigen aan de Noordzee.
Een geplamuurd gebied laat de baksteen doorschijnen en krijgt mooie tinten in de zon. Gecombineerd met helderglas, houten gevelbekleding, oker dakpannen en bronze raamkaders dat opgaat in de omringende landschappen en kleuren.
Het interieur is heel eenvoudig gedecoreerd met overal lichte beton vloeren, natuurlijke tinten, prachtige materialen…
Een project waar familie…centraal staat!
