Axa Belgium planned the complete renovation of an eight-story office building located on the corner of Belliard and Arlon Street, Brussels.
The project, starting in September requires the complete dismantling of the building whilst retaining the existing structure. Energy performance has been given priority for this major renovation with the project aiming to achieve ‘Nearly Zero Energy Building’ status (NZEB); through sustainable building practice. BREEAM excellence certification is also a requirement of the build. The completed building will have a total surface area of 6,527m2 above ground and will accommodate 106 parking spaces.
General contractor Herpain has been named responsible for the works.
This project plans to rehabilitate an urban industrial site into an open and airy residential area comprising seven apartment buildings with a total of 177 residential units. The arrangement of the apartment blocks allows for the creation of attractive green areas in the enclosed space between the buildings. A path for pedestrians – also accessible to emergency vehicles – crosses the project. The complex features uniform and restrained architecture based on a play between the plastered areas and the balconies in white polished architectonic concrete. The dark coloured window frames and safety rails give a rhythm to the façades.
The first phase of this project in Evere is about to start and concerns 58 apartments.
Construction of a private villa in the attractive and green environment of Rhode-Saint-Genèse, with a particular attention given to its integration into the landscape by an appropriate choice of materials and a deep thinking about its volumes.

The aim of the project is to reach K30 and E50 standards in efficiency through investing in high performance façades and roofing, placing efficient sun protections and making use of low energy design-and-build techniques.
Alva has purchased a property situated on Chaussée de Vleurgat that benefits a rear property located on Rue Van Eyck. As the house on Vleurgat will be renovated, the property currently situated on Rue Van Eyck will be developed into a 10 apartment building with two underground levels providing parking.
